About
The Sori Yanagi Appreciation Society is a platform for anyone who wishes to express their appreciation for the life and work of Japanese industrial designer Sori Yanagi (1915-2011).
The Society was founded in 2024 by designer Michael Marriott and writer Duncan Riches with the aim of increasing awareness and discussion of Sori Yanagi's life and work, but also to advocate for the notion of appreciation itself.
Michael Marriott is a designer based in east London. He creates objects, furniture, interiors, exhibitions, installations and publications. Duncan Riches is a writer based in east London. He creates words, strategies and publications. Together they hope the Society can spread goodwill and good vibes.
